Artist Willy Chyr created Kamilo using plastic debris that washed ashore on Hawaii.
“Made from 100 percent plastic marine debris collected by the Hawaii Wildlife Fund during a bi-monthly coastal clean up on the Big Island. Plastic debris from all over the world washes ashore on the southern tip of the island. About two tons of plastic are collected during each bi-monthly clean up. To make this piece I used no hardware, no paint, no adhesives. Only 100 percent plastic marine debris.”
